I found those videos of haulover on YouTube and now I addicted. It's great viewing for those of us who live in the North.

There are a few guys with youtube channels that must spend all day every day there videoing. I find them all strangely addicting, I can sit and watch those for way longer than I should. My wife hates when I just let it play on the tv, haha! I find it amazing how it'll throw around 50' boats like bath toys.

When the tide is going out all of the water around Miami Beach is funneling through the openings. I had a large cat and we went through there at 120+ a few years ago. But it was not rough like that. Years ago at the Miami Beach offshore races I was in a safety boat, a Center Console with twin 250's. A 46 Skater race boat broke down during the race so we towed it back through the inlet after the race. The tide was going out at that time. It took almost full throttle to tow that cat against the tide with me driving the Center Console. I was worried the line would snap. What made it worse is all the clown pleasure boats going through at the same time.

One thing about that inlet on outgoing tide and a breezy day.....don't try to turn around and go back in...... get out of the turbulence then turn around...........
