CCM intake stuffers for 2.4 200 carb mota

Putting this thing back together. already have the CCM reeds (nice) and wondering about the stuffers. Front half is not cut.

Would I see a difference with vs without? Also how about 1" spacer? Is that for top end or torque? Lastly, can you use stuffer and spacer?

The stuffers for the 5 petal cages will net you the same gain as 060 off the front half, the spacer is good for holeshot and midrange, make sure it will fit under your cover,It moves the front end forward 1 inch,They can be used together,Chris

I put the CCM stuffers with reeds in an XR6 a while back. I did the reeds first and noticed improved EVERYTHING from idle to WOT. Then i added the stuffers. I got a pretty good increase in low end torque with the stuffers. I never added a spacer though. A buddy runs one of Chris' 1" spacers on his 2.5 and said it woke the mid range up big time.

Thanks Chris. Your reeds definitely smoothed out the idle and gave it a lot better manners. Very pleased.

so are stuffers for top end or bottom to mid?

If the stuffers are for bottom and mid, will they take anything away from the top end? I have a 2001 280hp EFI. Would a 1" plate do anything for this motor?

Mercury sold a 1 in spacer for the 260-280-300 drag motors, made of aluminum, around 5-6 pounds if I remember right.Ours weighs 1 1/2 pounds...and insulates heat from the front of the motor, good for air density and more plenum area.More power across full rpm band on 7 petal motors. The stuffers raise crankcase compression(same as milling front half, only more). The 4/5 petal spacer plate vastly improves the path from intake to reed on a carb or laser injected motor so better acceleration, but top end will be governed by carb and exhaust size.
