Drove up beside an officer at a red light the other day... he rolled down his window and shouted "how long did I give you?".... turns out he was the same guy that pulled me over the month before and told me to "fix" my truck..... lol

I have received many a warning from officers. I have also received many a ticket(s)(s)(s) from officers too. Every time they could have been a lot tougher on me and they were not. Being polite goes a long way. But there have been two times that come to mind where the officer was not nice, so I was not either. Still complied, but was not nice. They still treated me fairly. Maybe they were just having a bad day and were actually good people.
He didn't like that my tires weren't fully within the wheel wells, I actually had 3 days left to fix it from when he first stopped me. He was nice both times, as was I, but he made it clear he wasn't going away anytime soon and would eventually pull my truck off the road.

Oh well, got it fixed up, hes happy, and I haven't been pulled over since.

That cop with the tire width issues would have a field day down here with the 4x4's.

I can say any time a cop has done a u-turn for me it wasn't to ask how my day was going. I've been tempted to say to them when they ask, Do you know why I pulled you over; I want to say,You're bored and are looking for someone to talk to.

They would wear out a pen and run out of ticket books down here!!! Especially the kids with 25% of the tires hanging out. Not sure about you guys, but I like my paint better than that. I bought fender flairs for my Dodge with only 8" wheels. I hate rock dings!

Back in the late '70's the city police where I live were out of control, especially the motorcycle cops. It was so bad that when we finally got a new mayor he hired a new chief of police and the new chief fired 30% of the force. We went from 12 motorcycle cops to 4.

Anyway back before the new chief of police cleaned house one of those motorcycle cops gave me a ticket for following too close...while I was at a red light. Lucky for me my dad knew the D.A. and he got it fixed.

It's been years now but driving home from a long Monday at work I was just zoned out of it. Road goes from 45 to 35 when it goes from commercial to residential. I was going 55 in the commercial zone. I notice a city cop coming towards me in the other direction. I see him, check my speedo (still over 50 now in a 35) and then see him flip a U turn in my mirror. I just pulled over and waited, he didn't even turn his lights on yet.

Young cop, super nice guy. Let me off with a warning.

The road was a bridge that went over a river that divided the town that was also about to not be a state road in a few months because the highway was going to by-pass the town. Since there was a citation issued, the town had to buy a trailer to put the mower on and then tow it with a vehicle for the remaining months that the road was still a state road. I will never forget that. What a waste of a "law enforcement official". Laws are enforced at their discretion, this guy is a waste of a uniform. I personally know many more good officers then I do bad, but there are a few bad ones out there.

...yup, that they are. i sometimes watch the first amendment auditors on youtube. because everyone has a good quality camera nowadays, you get to see what police are really like, and have been like for decades. they are not edited, they are not baiting, the camera does not lie. its an interesting education of the law...

Yeah, up here its all about tax money. Cops are turned into "tax collectors with a gun". Thats not to say that there is not a lot of good done by our Police up here, but you start out as a traffic officer, and these are the types of tickets they LOVE.

I mean really, we have to pay for our FREE healthcare somehow!

Let me guess, you made the wheel wells wider
