How much HP does it take to push a V-King to 100?

I know set up and weight are major factors but as a general guide what do you guys think is the HP needed?

I had a Bridge Port (245 hp) on mine and it ran right at 100...But it turned close to 7k doing it, and all that was in the boat was a little battery and (2) 6 gallon tanks.

Well, I ran a "98" 200 FF EFI on mine and got 86 with a worked 28p lightning ET. Keeping the rpm close to 6k. My 225 3.0 is a little faster at 90. 6k also. My hull is blueprinted (no hook) and all the weight is right on the transom. You will have to spin it up for that kind of speed. And surface the lower right at the pad.

I would leave it stock and repower but I had a pinched fuel line and tightened up two holes. Sucks but what can ya do? I might switch it to 16amp so I can spin it higher

A good 225 promax with no limiter will get you there with a light load and good set up,and yes on the 16 amp system.

Definitely love seeing a hydrostream thread at the top after not being on here for a few days.
I say keep going with that 250hp project, jack it to the moon, and let a sharp nasty cleaver do the rest!!! You'll have zero prob hitting triple digits

if you have a straight/stiff bottom and build an xr6 case you probably get there with 200hp!non bp 2.4/7pedal. I was seeing 93gps with full interior and 110lb. passenger with the first prop I tried 26 cleaver!

My YT ran 104 on the limiter with a 225pm. A slightly warm 2.5 200 should do it...the again going fast is more about setup than brute hp.
