    oil injection delete question

please for give my ignorance i don't have a lot of experience with these engines..i deleted the oil injection on my 97 2.5 200. my question is that there appears to be small hose that ran from the pump to the block.it splits and looks like it goes to each cylinder on both sides.i am guessing that they go to the reeds? is that correct? i fired the motor for a few seconds and light pressure along with a little oil was blowing out of the side that used to go to the pump. i"m just curious about what to do with this. do i cap it or re rout is to something different?

Should be 2 lines attached to oil pump. One takes oil from small tank and the other feeds oil into the fuel supply. Sounds like you are describing bleed lines which have nothing to do with the oil injection.

Just in-case you haven't done this yet:

There is a kit for deleting the oil injection... You must unbolt the pump from the block AND remove the pump gear/shaft from within the block! There is a brass bushing that this gear rides in, you must use a blocking plate with bushing holder. If you don't, the bushing will fall out and destroy your engine!!!! The part number for the delete kit is... 43453

Now as for the hole in the block, that was for the pulse line leading to your main oil tank, it is basically a check valve that feeds pressure to the main oil tank so it can"pump" oil to the engine mounted tank for final delivery to the injection system. You can either cap the check valve or remove it and replace it with a brass plug. If you don't the engine won't run properly... I believe the pluge is 1/4" or 3/8" npt but don't quote me on that one... You can remove that check valve and bring it to the hardware store just to be sure...

    Hope this helps...

Rock. Are the bleed Lines small? The ones I’m talking about are 1/8” or smaller. If so would they go to the VST ? I had that off to change the fuel pump and it’s possible I didn’t connect everything correctly. I did the fuel pump and oil delete at the same time so I probably got messed up when putting it back together

    thanks

Don't forget to remove the pulse valve that pressurizes the main tank and install a pipe plug.

thanks!! you guys have been a big help! i think i know what i did wrong. hose #10 in the bleed line diagram is the one i was trying to figure out. i did some digging and found another diagram that shows it going to the VST.also i didn't plug the pulse valve. i got this thing in pieces and it wasn't on a boat so i didn't know what that nipple was for and left it open
