13f
It is supposed to be 13F for a low Monday night!!! And then does not get over high 20s until Wednesday!!! We aren't used that crap! Freezing rain foretasted for this weekend and a wintry mix Monday.
There is going to be busted pipes all over. Water will probably go out. Last time it got under 20 was 3 or 4 years ago.
PS heatpumps suck anything below 45F. Ask me how I know...

You probably already know the "let faucets trickle" trick, moving water is much harder to freeze.

Keep that freezing stuff up there Paul. 36F right now. That's cold enough, don't need any of that freezing temps stuff.

29 here right now and the high was 33. They dropped forecasted the low to 6F Monday night. If it makes it that low, it will be a record. I have never seen it that cold here... not that I remember. There are gonna be some pipes a bustin' under them shacks in town!!! Good thing I have 30 gallons in jugs. Also have a propane heater if/when the power fails. They are saying up to a 1/2 of ice. I hope we don't get that! Then it is suppose to snow Sunday, Monday, and pretty much off and on really getting bad Wednesday night into Thursday.... WTF?
If this is global warming, it SUCKS!

They are saying 14F low/30F high on Monday, crap. That is c-o-l-d cold. Guess I need to get some fuel tanks filled for Gene-rator, in case of power outage.
Thanks for the weather warning Paul.-----------------------

The last bad freeze we had was back in the '90s. I was stuck offshore for a week. The helo's couldn't fly because of ice forming on the rotors. That was a nasty one.

Could be worse.
I'm spraying paint on a few parts right now in the garage. Checking the site during flash times. Heat is at 70*, gas man is going to love me!
I honestly feel for you guys in more temperate climates when unexpected **** like this hits. Building code, houses, etc, aren't designed with these temps in mind. At least its expected up here and we build for it. With that said I'm sure I'll visit a few broken sprinkler pipes next week at work.

Broke a 50 year old record low last night and record coldest high today. 19 right now with about 2" of sleet and no freezing rain so far! Heat pump, smeat pump!!! It ran for a solid hour before I lighted the propane heater.
Now they are saying 5-6" of snow tomorrow! That is as much or more than we got 40 years ago. Everything is shut down, bridges and even some highways. There was a big wreck in Jackson, MS. Bunch of semi trucks. My neighbor lost her water around 9pm.
And you can't make this up. Vicksburg, MS - Garbage truck turns over on an icy bridge. Fire truck responds and crashes into the garbage truck. Tow truck shows up and crashes into the fire truck.

Well, the freezing rain is coming down and I have icicles on the house. Lots of white stuff on the ground and my truck. I don't think it's from birds either. The internet says it's 26F outside. Suppose to hit 15F this time tomorrow.
Paul, do you have thunder and lightning up there?
I wonder if when those trucks were crashing into each other if it happened in black & white, with a piano playing and at 50fps.

OK, this is not gonna work. I live approx. 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and the streets where I live are covered in about an inch of ICE. Which one of you fellas up north let this stuff off the leash?
Joking aside I always thought driving on ice would be hard, no pun intended. It's not that bad, just use common sense, don't stab the throttle, don't turn the steering wheel quickly, and don't hit the brakes hard. Damn glad the only hills we have are called overpasses and bridges.
And it makes drifting easy. Had some fun driving down my street like Ken Block Jr.-----------------------

Never broke 22F today. Now they are saying 7 for tonight. No thunder and lighting. I could hear the sleet hitting my windows last night. I think we received 4-5" of sleet. It drifted up on my garage door about 10". It is covering all the roads. At least it isn't ice. I put two old pillows in garbage bags in my water meter box and cover it with a piece of plywood. So far I have water.
I had to put the skis on. Wind was gusting 20-25mph so photo op only.
