I hear ya! Wind chill with single digit temps is suppose to be -2. Normally I would get some beer, and fire up the Kodiak for a ride. Too damn cold though.

That's okay, I found my safe space with my bed warmer (dog).

He has been in it before, albeit much warmer and one of those one day snows.

I tried to post a pic... it is right side up on my puter, but keeps loading upside down...?

Well the power is back, for now. Only lost power for a few hours. It's cold and my damn generator I bought after Hurricane Laura won't start. It ran fine Sunday but I couldn't get the damn thing to fire off when the power went out today. After the second go at starting it I decided to take a drive to check on my brother and work on it when I got home. I got home and we have power again, yeah.

At least 90% of the ice on the roads is gone. Elec. co. sent a text saying they were told to shut off power to stop damage from the ice.

I found this article. Holy crap!!! I heard they were doing this in TX....

Entergy initiates power outages across SWLA due to strain on power grid

You might ought to try and get the genny running again.

Our roads are still covered in sleet/snow. BUT even though it is below 30, the sun is out and melting some of it. It will be worse tomorrow after the refreeze tonight.

Now that it's warmer the Gen. wants to run. The only thing I could think of was moisture frozen on the sparkplug gap. Though the plug was dry when I pulled it 20min. ago. Who knows, all I know is it wouldn't even try and start with starter fluid this A.M. Which made me think ignition. Never seen a plug frozen across the gap so I don't know.

Hopefully, I won't have to try and run it again, in this weather. "fingers crossed"

No, fresh gas, and the only difference between this AM and when it started at 4PM was the air temp. Not sure if something was grounded from frozen moisture in the ele. system that would stop the engine from starting. This gen. has a low oil and carbon monoxide shutoff so I wonder if moisture froze in those systems and wouldn't let it start. So far it's a mystery to me.

EDIT: I read an article that said the low oil shutoff can be triggered by the wrong viscosity oil in freezing temps. Maybe that's what did it. I still have the oil in it the Gen. came with. This generator is only 6 months old.
Guess I need to get another bottle for my propane torch so I can heat up the crankcase.

Depending on humidity could have had moisture in intake and cylinder when you cranked it, poof froze on plug.
