I received this from Christy07 for my ad in the Hulls wanted section- Same group, glad this was brought to surface. I tried sending the guy an e-mail multiple times and luckily he never responded.

Yea, that profile contacted me as well cause I have been on the look for a pair of Mercs for my newly acquired Shadowcat. He gave me an email address to contact but I never did because it seemed a little off. Then he kept messaging me to see if I ever contacted it. Glad I didn't.

Btw guys I am a real person (even tho I don't have much of a profile on this site) so if you guys have any pairs or a downdraft 250 Merc I would be interested.

I wonder if the mods can track his IP and you could potentially identify where he was messaging from... Then contact local police in that jurisdiction. There is always the possibility that he is using a public internet connection/vpn. I wouldn't be surprised if he reopened a new account on this site. Mods should post a banner warning users to look out for this type of behavior...

I had the same issue with a member named mariorob142. Posted looking for a prop, sends me an email to contact someone and sends me a picture of a picture of a prop on a piece of paper. Sends me same picture twice when I ask for more pics. Then gives me a phone number for a text mail subscriber. Nothing worse than scammers.

You should consider taking the previous advice and contact the police in your jurisdiction. You may get lucky, depending on how motivated the police there are. If it turns out there are multiple victims, the FBI may open an investigation. Law enforcement can follow the internet leads and the money to possibly identify a suspect. No guarantees, but it won't hurt to do it. The perp is betting you are too far a way to matter. Try to prove him wrong!!

Authorities and banks have been notified , it’s been two weeks , so doubt the money will still be there , the shipping document has his number and address but I doubt there real , the bank details were in a different name , old storey if it sounds too good to be true it proably is , the freight website had me convinces ,www.worldgreenshipping.com typed in the tracking number and it came up as it should . Pretty elaborate set up obviously he knows engines etc said he would throw in the Weldon fuel pump and cables said he had another drag for sale as well which I nearly sent the money for , looking back I should of walked away when he couldn’t send me a video of it running , if any cyber experts can look into his details and the shipping website maybe I can track him down
