A group of Crackers went for their annual family trip to northern Michigan to play in the snow, 1/2 got a early flight back they said they were not prepared for temps that low

...i lived here for 15 plus years before our first hurricane "warning". when we did finally have one, everyone gets prepared, we have a few parties, and it passes. had a few more, all spread out, with many years without them, in between. had one that was strong, semi-direct hit, just a longer group of get-togethers with the neighbors, since no electric, while we barbequed each others freezer food. honestly, the ones we do rarely get are no big deal at all. the media does like to scare people, including us. so...99% of the time...we have no hurricanes...or at least no hurricanes that we can't handle. our biggest problem down here? its that everyone wants to freak'n live here. THATS our biggest problem.

Braap Braap! is right! I was working in my T-Shirt today in my toasty garage. The neighbor kids came by riding the ditch on big CC old school piped 2 stroke carb Cats, Polaris and Ski Doo's. Ski's up showing off. Sounded wonderful. Had to poke my head out the door to wave and get a good smell of that exhaust. Bitchin!
Took a spin on the ATV around the lake during the Fisheree this weekend. Big turn out. Happy crowd. Looked like 16"+ of ice. Bet its 2ft+ up North
A new house is going up 2 lots away from me. The crew doing the rough in was out there today in Carharts. Game on.
I am sure many of us on this site live in this climate. For those who have never experienced it, they are very surprised it gets like this.
I've had enough though... Only about 70 more days before the dock and lifts go back in. Gotta get these motor projects and a rerig done. It will be here before we know it.

Scott, I’ve always looked at the winter as a good time of forced maintenance. Plus it can be long so there’s no reason to quickly bandaid something, plenty of time to do it right.

I had a great weekend in the North. The "race never stops" no matter what the temp. is. These pictures were taken at Kiekhaefer park where Carl used to test, prove, and race his snowmobiles. They have an annual club event that includes a vintage "show and ride". I must say that it was nice to be back in boating weather today.

About the coldest I ever show skied was 7 above it was snowing hard, while going back up on the chairlift I was asking myself why I came that night very few were skiing, by the 4th run I was heated up sweating under all those layers and I thought it was great, no lift linesWe have invented the world; WE see
