    I thought about going to the Rolex until I read about the restrictions listed on their website this year due to covid. no paddoc access, limited infield admission & wearing masks etc. better off watching from home & jockeying channels for air time. not the same as attending. 50 cars entered this year , should be a good one.Roar before the 24 to be televised 1-24 at around 4 pm on NBCSN as well

    ,

    good assesment, haden't thought that far ahead , always walking through the pits prior and enjoying all the pretty paint jobs and returning 24 hr later to see the carnage. in the past I've hauled containers for foreign teams from the port here and returned them after the race. seems like an off year for spectators, I'm with you TV with munchies works for me

    I’ll be watching.

    I watched their 100 min sprint race last weekend that determines grid for the 24.

    Always loved road racing and especially endurance racing.

    Wont get me out of the house but will help feel normal for a couple hrs.
    I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

    I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

    100% agreed.

    Stumbled on the sprint last wk and forgot how much I enjoyed that type racing.

    I’m w/you on the fuk pro ball sports.

    I’ll be watching more and more motor sports.

    Went to Sebring when we lived down there and now live a 1/2hr from Mid Ohio race course so will be supporting them.
    And yes, the bikes too!

    did you drive ? ton of guy's here in town that " were on the Brumos team " pit guy's etc.

    After further review, I noticed the date , that was not Hurly Haywoods race team at that time , can you name the major player in 76 ?

    It wasn’t Hurleys team, Peter Gregg still owned the race team and dealership but Hurley was the star driver, always just a tad faster than Peter. Peter continued to race and win until he was barred from IMSA racing due to chronic double vision caused by an accident in 79. He committed suicide on 80 and Hurley took over as the leader of the team a few years later.

    We will be there over the weekend. I have a standing renewal for the PCA corral ever since it was created and haven’t missed a race in 24 years. We still get the trackside parking but the tent and activities have been cancelled. It will be much different but aside from not being in the pits it will feel a lot more like it did 20 years ago when 5000 people were a big crowd. It’s been nuts the last 10 years since NASCAR resurrected IMSA and unified US endurance racing again.

    Just read up on Hurley.

    I was a fan.

    Don’t remember Gregg commuting suicide. Very sad.

    I followed IMSA and was a huge fan from mid ‘70’s through late 80’s.
    I think mid/late ‘80’s were the best.
    Especially liked their class structure.

    GTU = 3.0 liters and under.
    GTO = 5.0 and under
    GTP = prototype

    I loved the GTP’s for the full zoot, off the hook technology and unbelievable performance/speed.

    IMO though, GTO in the mid/late 80’s had the best competition.
    Factory Mustangs against Camaro's etc.

    Im a huge Scott Pruitt fan and in that era he either won or was top 3 every weekend in his 5.0 Mustang.

    For four yrs they had an IMSA street race in Cols Ohio that was epic!
    One yr in GTO, Pruitt, Jack Baldwin, Boris Said and Willy T Ribbs put on an exhibition!
    Pruitt and Baldwin got fined for rough driving!!

    I truly miss that era.

    Also remember Dodge raced their Shadows (grocery getters) in GTU.
    They ran two cars, one in front wheel drive and one as rear to see which was better.
    Amazingly the front drive was as fast as the rear!

    The 2021 field assembled Wednesday at the 3.56-mile circuit for the traditional group photo before the 24-hour endurance event, capturing the lineup from multiple angles. The 49 entries are divided among five classes of cars competing for divisional wins and overall laurels.
