Suzuki Ignition and carbs on OMC 3cyl?
Has anyone put a suzuki 3 cyl ignition and Mikuni carb setup on a 3 cyl looper? I just picked up 2 nice 1995 DT55's for cheap, one without a gearcase. going through the shop manual, i was very impressed with how advanced these motors were. I'm sure someone can chime in, but they used a throttle sensor on the middle carb that digitally adjusted timing based on throttle position, ambient air temp and RPM. Thought it would be cool to try to adapt the ignition for the OMC motors, but i'm sure its more trouble than its worth. Just curious is all... those Suzuki engineers were clever!

the main thing is how big are the throats at the back of the Suzuki carbs ? if not over 1 1/2 inch dont bother, go for force 90hp carbs by tillotson.

interesting. ill pull a set off one of the motors and break out the calipers when i open the shop back up. just eyeballing them, they look to be atleast 1.5''. the dt65 versions were certainly over that.

you might get a shock when actually start measuring them. the 70hp carbs for omc are 1 1/2 inch at the rear throat and 1 1/4 venturi.
