First run on a new 22 Liberator with a 450R

I put this new 2021 Liberator 22 with a new Mercury 450R in the water for the first time today. It was too windy to run the 34" Hill 5 blade cleaver so I opted for a 30". Acceleration was crazy! 40-100 in 10 seconds. The prop hit the limiter at 110 which is 4% slip. Gotta say, this boat is BIG FUN!! My website is Liberatorpowerboats.com

Randy, Looks awesome - as usual. And I thought I was the only one who preferred to drive barefoot!

If you don't mind me asking, what are you running for steering on the 4.6 liter boats you're rigging?

I drive barefoot so I don't get the boat dirty. I use the Seastar power assist because it looks better and does not run full time like the Mercury steering. The plastic cover on the Mercury looks like a lunch box and the running full time is irritating. The Seastar cost more, but it's all about the looks! It's on the far right by the battery

What is the gage at the extreme left?

Imagine boating in January. There is a skating rink on the ice in front of my cottage.
Imagine driving my SS2000 with no hands, same day I boat in January

Love watching your videos, and your finished boats are works of art. Might be a stupid question (apologies) but any reason you don't put your gauges on the left side of the dash on angled bezels for better visibility and on the same subject, make a rectangular "bezel" for the garmin screen to angle it towards you? I know even driving my "slow" 60mph boat it is annoying to have to lean over slightly to get a good view sometimes, and I figure at high speed you would rather be watching what's coming up ahead than looking away too much.

I put guages if customers want them Angled would not look right with the Garmin screen. Flat guage to the left is just fuel, so it doesn't really matter

Beautiful. Why did the customer choose not to install a foot throttle? Two hands on the wheel is smarter no?

Not sure where this 22/450r package is going, but I had a 22/300r with a foot throttle. They are nice except if you are in a place like where I live in Fl. Long no wake zones with extended idling. Sometimes my foot would get a cramp or go to sleep. Hand throttle with the friction set a little tight would have been nice during those long idles.

Can't the idle be dialed in with a couple taps of a button on a gauge? Like troll speed? Would think this would be nothing in a modern set up.
    ANTI40It's just an idea.

Normally i set up all the dts motors with hand and foot throttles. You can just push a button to go from hand to foot
