How are you liking the boat? Any updates or thoughts on it now with more seat time?

I still need to mod the Skeg as it will help with control. Even though it is getting much easier for me to drive now. It flys great and runs through the big boat wakes with ease!!! I am really amazed at how well the boat works, I ask it to do something and it never lets me down!

I am getting excited to do some testing by myself and let it rip but all of my runs have been with excited friends and family. I never seem to have less then 4 people and a bunch of gear on board, but it still crests 90+ with ease like that. Let me tell you the normal go fast boats give you some crazy looks when you rip by on the pad with this boat.

My only want as of right now is to convert the seats for flip up bolsters! I cannot see a darn thing going slow hahahahaha!!! The seating position is great when you are up on plane though and the visors work great to save you from the bugs and wind. I am thinking that power steering or hitting the gym may be in order too, as after a couple solid days on it my arms are a bit sore. I just wish I could afford more of these boats, I dream of having a fleet some day!

What is your plan with the skeg? Running a sporty with a torque tab?

Yes its a sporty and I will build my own torque tab and also build the skeg up to have a bit more length and height. I am so busy though who knows when that will happen. I tend to use my few free hours I have here and there just running it.

The cambered skeg that came with the sporty isn't enough? Here's mine:

curious to know about the skeg mod as well? is this something mark suggested? are the skegs on their test boats modified as well? if you had a coned torquemaster i could see a benefit but a sporty skeg is pretty much what everyone tries to copy when modding theirs.

For Test Purposes I have used a Bobs Torque Tamer attached with 3M 2 sided tape and had it hold on well into the 80s for multiple times out. Attention to cleaning and a little heat when applied was key......

Jace and I tested the 32P Drag 4 this weekend. It has a lot of slip early but carries RPM nice and gets on plane and accelerates pretty well. The weather was fair with high humidity and temps in the 75-80 range and we where full on fuel. Still managed to run a tick over 99 though!!! She still has a little ways to go with setup, mods and a better prop.

Also we ran in lake Michigan for the first time and it went very well. A little wheel time will help me in the ruff stuff. This thing takes anything you give to it and asks for more! No doubt it feels light though!

The Skeg mod helped stability and eased some steering effort when flying the boat! I now own a boat that runs triple digits! DA altitude at the time of the runs was about 2250ft so not ideal for making big power. It will run a consistent 96-100 with people and gear now this is not a one hit wonder and there is more left on tap!!!

It is a toss up, the 32p 4 blade Bravo is a great all around prop for multiple people and cruising. The 32p Drag 4 feels a little looser on the bottom end but runs great un loaded. I still need more seat time to keep testing though.

What handling characteristics does that boat have to learn? Coming from +/- 20' pad V, I learned the skill of getting through the china wok. Do the Tuff's do that as well?

Yes you still have to walk the boat. It gets easier with seat time though. Drive height, angle, load, speed and angle of attack all come into play. Knowing what it wants at all times becomes second nature but it takes time. With that being said it does the job better then any other pad boat I have ever been on.
