Suggestions on Prop

Hi All,

I've recently acquired an Alpha SS, and will be putting it behind my Glastron Intimidator (20 foot boat, fairly shallow hull, about 1500lbs dry including engine and out drive). The engine is not stock and is probably putting out around 300 horse power. Currently I have a basic Alpha 1 with a nose cone added and a 23 pitch ballistic prop (also have a stock 23 pitch clever), the boat does about 72 with this setup and spins about 5K rpms. The boat also does have a slight hook in the stern that was setup from the factory.


Any recommendations on props I should try out on this setup to maximize the gains from going to the Alpha SS? Unfortunately I don't live near any dealers that participate it Mercruiser's prop demo program, otherwise I'd go that route.

That 1500lbs sounds super- lite for a 20'???

My mistake, meant to say w/o engine and outdrive, so all in probably more like 2400Lbs
