I have a set that were made in Israel, all cylinders within 1 degree to 8500. The best set out of any ones I've had regardless of who they came from.

The cheap switchboxes are made in china and are advertised as "CDI" all of these switchboxes use capacitive discharge for ignition...
The CDI Boxes that people recommend are made by "CDI Electronics" https://www.cdielectronics.com/
The ones from Sierra marine are also supposed to be up to OEM standards as well...
If you paid less then $100 per box, you probably have the knock-off chinese versions... You could try running them but there's no guarantee they won't cause problems. The ones I ordered were junk right out of the box...
