Coosa or Divinycell ??????????????
Hello all, I am replacing the floor in my STV RR it has a couple areas around where screws were used to hold down the seats and where the hinges for the race cowl were bolted down that are rotten. I am in the air about what material to use to replace the flooring. Im defiantly NOT using plywood and want to use a LIGHTWEIGHT composite. I looked up Coosa and Divinycell and both seem to be what im wanting I just dont know which one I should use ??? I know a lot of guys have replace their transoms with Coosa but I dont know about the flooring so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated thanks James

I used 1/2'' lower density coosa (12#) for my floor of my V-King. Glassed 1 lay of 1.5 oz mat over and under with 1708 glass tabbing all around the perimeter. I built glass bases for the seats. But also have bedded alum plate pcs into the coosa, and glassed over to drill and tap later for stuff. With the divinnycell (H-80) it would take 1708 glass on both sides of it and the pcs of foam are smaller so would have to be built on a table. Coosa is 4x8 feet sheets. Both are good matls. Weights would be very close to the same.

I’ve read as many resto threads as I can. Coosa for floor, transom and stringers and diviny cel for core seems to be the ideal wood free program

I used Coosa 1/2" in the floor and transom of my Laser. It came out great and is easy to work with.
