basicly this issue was the length of the outrigger bow wave intercepted the center pod. This pulled the queen wave in front of the pod never letting it clear the water and it pulled more and more water as speed increased. No solution was found. You can also think of it like a pontoon with water hitting the deck and frame braces.

I think someone added the race cat flap to one but I don’t remember if it worked. ( the flaps close in the back trapping air.

im not positive this is your boat just one I remember from back in the day.

a wing could keep it down.
Interesting, could you expand on the queen wave theory.
I have a hull that's experiencing similar behavior but not as bad

That would help me too. So far all I can find is how a Queen is suppose to wave. Not in any boating terms I could find.

    Thanks

It’s a hull theory thing I don’t fully understand. It’s one reason the big ocean ships have that nipple thing on the bow. King queen just mean first or second wave.

in the basic sense the wake meets creating a pile of water above the main water line. The best example is the wake under the deck of a pontoon. The water rises and hits the crossbars creating a tone of drag. On a pontoon they skin the bottom flat to reduce that drag.

for a center pod boat it just means extra drag depending on where it meets the center pod. If it’s the very front the pod is pushing throu it the same as if it was buried in the water. And can’t lift over it without the sponsons lifted out of the water. ( capt mentioned needing to change shorts) which reminded me of one boat that bad this issue. If the center pod lifted the out side of the boat cleared water, but couldn’t balance on the pod. And the wake went away it lifted on. This made it literally hop and come down crooked and possibly chine walk. A real brown streaks situation.

just to be clear I’m not positive it’s this model. Just a memory form a drag racer who stayed at our cabins and was on the dock. When a boater cam in for gas’s and asked how to make his boat go faster. While we chatted.

don’t understand or know much more then that.

    Thanks,
I had thought about it today. If you watch the video it is chime walking back and forth. Almost looks like the way a queen waves at the crowd.

I appreciate the input. I have lots to try when the weather warms up.

    Thanks, Ed

My 20 Baker Rampage had 1" of squish 9" near driver to 8" exiting the tunnels.
Definitely more going on in the center sponson design and outside sponson.
We will be adding probably 1" to the tunnel roof and test until we can fly the hull safely

Looks similar to the Daytona tunnels. What was the measurement of the tunnel depth near the driver.
You said your CG was 4ft from the transom with you sitting in the boat? I would think it would be more like 6ft.
Your boat will carry itself into the wind in chop. Looks like you need to pack more air like me.
It's a gorgeous well made Eliminator which needs some bottom work to break it loose.
I will try to post some more pictures of the Daytona

I wonder why Eliminator changed the outside sponsons design on your 21. My brother in-laws I think is a 91or older.
Could your bottom be more geared for OB's

Possibly.. I believe the older 21 was jet pump specific, so your theory may hold true. Mine is also a twin, very small number of twins were made in the newer version. My center pod has two drains do to the very different transom bracing in my boat compared to a single or inboard design.

First checking to see how straight a bottom is with the boat hanging will not always give you a true look as it does not have any load against it. It is very possible the bottom is pulling a hook when running. IMO you need to put back on trailer and use a jack to push up on the ctr pod about 2 feet from transom and see if the bottom moves, if it does it may be pulling a hook into it while running. Not moving I did see some light under the straight edge that needs taken care of along with the back edge being razor sharp so the water comes off the back edge clean. A 260 on that boat at what it weighs will not want more than a 26 pitch 3 blade and chopper style. You also need to get the speedo pick up off the ctr pod as it is putting air into the water right in front of the propeller. Testing on classy water will also make it difficult to get right. IMO when running trim in small amounts slowly so you keep the gearcase/prop shaft parallel to the surface.
