Not my first boat but first white knuckle boat. To this day it was the most fun for the money of any of my rigs. 84 235 with everything I could think of done to it with my broke ass back then and spanked many mercs with it...

Suspect URL, but a good overview of the Crescent/Monark/Archimedes/Volvo Penta models here:

Bobbie you know tack's from those days they were happy.

When I post RPMs on Merc's we check the ECU for info not the dash.

We had a Dick O'Dea 6 carb setup too on a 2.4.I believe we had 22's on our manifold. The linkage was a nightmare and all the carbs were hooked together and the spark advance was locked full advance. We had to solder all the butterfly holes closed except for one on each butterfly otherwise it would get too much air at idle. Ran a little rough at idle but sounded sweet. Jetting was fun too.

My recently retired 1992 Mercury 2.5 / 200. Mildly warmed over by the wizards at Diamond Marine. Solid Mounts, G-Force Tuner, Exhaust Relief mod, CLE gear case, Latham steering, Bblades worked Yamaha prop and a few more goodies. I will never have another motor that sounds as good as this one did at 6,400 RPM.

I had been talking with Alan a lot. 7K is it for cast pistons. I kept it a bit fat, always used premium fuel, and the good oil. Then there is the harmonic zone to stay away from.

I have a Baker ported block that will be the last crossflow I "build".

    Dave,

Damn that sure looks like a lotta work to go fast boating. My knees ache just looking at that.

Question the #85 video post. How fast does a 6 cylinder Quincy like that spin? I assume that Alky and Bean oil right?
