Question Help me identify this ?Hydrostream Vector?

Hey all, I am new here and to fast boats in general. Trying to figure out exactly what boat I have. Looks to be just like a Hydrostream Vector without the windshield and elevated rear sides. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your experience and suggestions. I listed it for sale as Hydrostream and been getting some hate texts saying i was advertising falsely. But no one will say what it is. Hull ID is H2596379 and registration says 1979 Hydrostream Vector 16’.

Yep. Buddy of mine had one 35 years ago and did the same thing. Windshields and hdwe were real hard to get even then.

Welcome to S&F! Can you post more photos of the deck? I've seen a few of them modified this way and yours looks like it was done pretty well.

...there were a couple vector boat copies produced over the years... should be three letters to the prefix of the hull number on any u.s. boat...

I was going to ask about that. I am far from an expert on HydroStream hull numbers but I always thought they began with the letters HSP.

Here's an interesting Viper that was heavily modified similar to that Vector:

Greg is right. According to everything on the inter webs, every Hydrostream HIN started with HSP.

...to get more specific...another item to note... there are thousands of stolen boats out there, of all makes & models & sizes. some illegimately made legal, some not. just because they have been sitting around for decades with new/old registrations or titles does not grandfather them in, as being more legit. a boat manufacturers true original hull number, two on every boat, is hard to replace or alter, both physically, and numerically. knowing the business, if i was presented the original posters hull number on the boat and/or on the paperwork as accurate, i would not want anything to do with this boat. thats just me.

I doubt that's a Hydrostream, more likely a pop. I don't recall the deck being turned up behind what would have been the windshield area, and obviously with the wings missing it would have to have been whacked on to be an original vector.

Not Hydrostream rub rail..nor the lump in the dash. A pic of how the hull id is set in the hull would help.
