X/C® 5606H Aviation Hydraulic Fluid meets the cleanliness requirements for “super clean” hydraulic fluid for use in modern aircraft hydraulic systems.
X/C® 5606A Aviation Hydraulic Fluid is recommended for use in hydraulic systems that do not require a “super clean” fluid.
Both fluids are dyed red for identification and leak detection purposes.

No, I thought it is dinosaurs put in a jar. Seriously, wtf marcus? So petty. Ok here it goes....
Mineral oils are produced from refined hydrocarbons obtained from crude oil by distillation. They are applied as
hydrodynamic lubricants and as carriers of additives promoting boundary or solid-film lubrication.
But some people call them "super clean fluid". Thx for the info David WI...

So what do you mean it is based on if not a mineral oil base stock?

Feel free to correct me any time buzzin. I will be the first to admit i'm not an oil espert...There was a thread a while back about this? That's when I quit the sea star snake oil.
Like everyone here, I listen to what everyone else says and then do what I want. Hahaha.....

That was not particularly polite. However, you have posted much worse things.
I am no oil expert, but I have worked in the industry. I have also owned boat engines and cars, and have learned enough to know what I need to know to make informed decisions.
I encourage you to read up a bit on lubrication. On the other hand, in light of some of your other posts, you have much more important things to read up on.
Believe it or not, but your lack of knowledge isn't as good as someone else's knowledge, and does not deserve to be respected.

Well, it all boils down to the fact, "It's my boat and I can run whatever I dang well please" If one choses to ignore the manufactures recommendations because they fell the know better than the engineers, that designed it, that's totally up to them.

You can use these options.
I am retired from the lubricants industry. Lubricants have become more and more complex over the last few decades but this is a fairly basic hydraulic fluid.
Consider that Sea Star isn't making their product, it takes a specific grade of base stock refined to blend with a specific combination of additives. They're buying it from the lowest bidder and the same blend is probably going in lots of other bottles, pails, and drums that aren't labeled Sea Star.Last edited by TraceF3; 01-10-2021 at 10:25 AM.
