Post Famous Hydrostream Drag boat - For Sale

It has come time for us to pass on a piece of Hydrostream history. We are selling our race ready Hydrostream HST drag boat and trailer. This boat was a special build by Hydrostream just for drag racing, it is even labeled as a race boat on the Coast Guard tag.

We have campaigned the boat as "Muscle Boat II" for the past 20 years and have managed to continue the winning tradition. The boat was formerly owned by Bob Kottman and known as the "Missouri Missile". We have not verified his claim of over 20 points championships and several hundred wins in the boat but we do remember all the stories about the boat being "unbeatable". That is why we bought it when we heard he was offering it for sale 20 years ago, sight unseen just based on its reputation! We have not been disappointed.

The boat currently has a Mercury 2.5 EFI built by Tommy Dunn, several spare props for different classes and 800 feet and 1/4 mile "tracks", spare brand new racing lower unit, and numerous other parts. This boat is race ready and just needs to be updated to your personal preferences. We would love to keep it and continue on but unfortunately life has given us other plans.

Now it is your opportunity to continue on the history of one of the winning-est drag boats in history. Out of the four Hydrostreams we have owned, raced and loved over the past 45 years this have been one of our favorites!

We are asking $44,000 or best offer. You can NOT build this boat for that! I will post pictures shortly.

Good eye!! Yes that is Augusta, we had a very successful run of wins there and that was always one of our favorite races of the year. We were disappointed when Lucas Oil shut down the series and the race went away.

    Tommy, no offense but $44k
For that kinda money you could have bought several Premier race rigs. I understand the history with the boat. Good luck with your sale

Apparently I’m the one not knowing ODBA history thanks for the correction, but real racing ( as you call it) heads up the boat won a lot back in the day so ADBA, TDBA, or whatever clubs/associations there was. The boat did win quite a few race in the SE class rope racing. Neat history but ....$44k

Ah, the legendary Missouri Missile owned by the equally legendary Bob Kottman.

Here she is in her former glory.

Most winning outboard drag boat of all time.

We had some major battles back in the day with this particular boat.

Good luck with the sale! So nice to see it again.

I went to several races with Catfish and that boat, back in the day. Great memories, funny stories. it's worth what someone will pay. Good luck with the sale, was a dynamite boat with Bob's Yami for sure.

Thanks for the posts guys. We have enjoyed the phone calls we have gotten about the boat and getting to re-live some great stories with good friends. We are still accepting reasonable offers on this full set up. Feel free to reach out either on here or give us a call. It is a great boat and definitely one of a kind.

Jayme - thanks for the classic picture of Bob in the boat. I saved that to add to all of our photos from the past 20 years. It has been a privilege to carry on the winning traditions.

    Kottmans's HST....

Yessir Bob Kottman ran that boat w/ a " Kottmaha" and smoked ( typically) all his competition.
    $44K really..Really?

    Best of luck !!
