Optimax Fuel Rail Pressure Testing, Leak Testing & Calibration
I wanted to share a little project with you guys I've been working on. This will further help us to diagnose the root cause of your fuel issue on Optimax motors. This will aid in situations where customers don't have their own pressure gauges, or where we are looking for a fuel into air leak.
Another thing this will aid in is when we replace the regulator caps/spring assembly. We will now be able to send you a fully assembled and calibrated drop on fuel rail assembly.
Everything is actually up and running, but I want to make it more "fool proof" with some sort of flow meter. The way it is setup now, if the regulators are not set correctly, we can flow too much air into the system and the regulators on the rail can't dump fast enough. Anyways, its up and running for 3L models (I need to make the mounts for 2.5 and 1.5L models yet).
****On another note, would any of you guys be interested in buying "budget" fuel pressure gauge sets specifically for Optimax models? The gauge set from Merc is extremely expensive (~$500). This would have large easy to read gauges, and be a simpler, much more affordable setup.****

Nice work - yes I think a simple guage system put together would be beneficial instead of the 500 dollar guage would be helpfull as a diagnostic tool . Keep grooming your setup Blake . You have been very keen to show the membership the basics and explain it it simpler terms - thankyou glad your here

A cheaper gauge set def would be niche product I would have bought in the past instead of having to rig up things myself. Option with long hoses so people can read up in the helm because sometimes need to diagnose at full speed.
