    Aluminum Trailer Refinish

Does anyone have a good way to bring the finish back on an aluminum trailer that has aged? Not terribly corroded but been sitting outside for years.

I used some Eagle One etching mag wheel cleaner and some scotchbrite pads to resurrect some badly oxidized aluminum. Looked like new when it was done. Gotta wash it all off with lots of fresh water and spray WD40 over it all to keep it from chalking up again. It took some time, but worked very well.

I was thinking you would want "non-etching" cleaner?

In the detail industry it's called Briter or Aluminum Briter.

the aluminum I was cleaning was very nasty. Etching cleaver was the only stuff that broke through

I’d see what the local big rig shops are using. Semi's have tons of polished aluminum parts, and some of those drivers take a lot of pride in keeping their rigs shined up...

that’s a reflection of the ceiling.

It's hard for me to know. The product was/is made by ProChem. They are a detail supply company. Works fast.

    Try this-

Trace3 is correct - rigs and trailer shops just use aluminum briter, it is used as a wash- brush it on like you would use for a pale and truck brush - just like soap and water - rinse it off voila . Now the tarnished level of your unattended trailer may need more love but it works well and is super easy - may just be muratic acid and water not sure but works . Pay attention to the mix instructions they have it figured out . Easy peezy- good advice heed it

aluma bright is tha schit , just dont leave it on to long, I use a spray bottle , it will turn into a white foam and very soon after needs to be blasted off , I use a pressure washer , night and day with no effort , just spray on and blast off , even takes off grease , fun out

I use it straight, no deluting , on polished surfaces like wheels n such it will dull the finish to bare metal is why I state don't leave it on to long. on a trailer that will not make a difference, just do sections at a time and dont let it dry

Be careful if the trailer is anodized.... might need to dilute it...............
