MERC PROMAX 225 water tubbing dump

    Hi,

I live in “hot” weather and when I start my engines water comes out hot to my hand in low rpms. I have changed the system and now it is better. When running hi rpm I see not
much water coming out but psi and temp are ok.
Later I installed a 3/8 barb with reduction to 1/4 but Not sure if this new water dump design in general is wrong or OK.

    can someone please help here.

    regards,

Give some more info. What year are the Promax motors and are they fully factory? Next question would be what is the water temp at the ramp you use?

you don't need that piece between tha dumps from t-stats.. your t-stats control how much water discharges... unless ya changed to a one piece i'd leave it completely stock.. T-stats, poppet, discharge.. if it runs hot and /or pressure ain't right stock ya gotta problem somewhere........ jmo

    looks cool though.....................

tlwjkw: The piece between dumps you mean the hose connecting both dump tubing??? Or the barb with reduction?

tha parts circled or tha barbed thingies in tha ends of tha discharge hoses don't contribute in any way to tha coolin' system.. like i mentioned earlier.. unless you go to tha "one piece" adapter plate (which i don't thing you did) there is absolutely no gain with modifying tha stock coolin' system stuff.. jmo.

there's tons of mercs in your same waters that run stock coolin' junk with no problems soooooooooooooooo... does your "over temp" buzzer go off?

assuming all three pictures are same motor, did you do anything to tha motor "after" you got it? (other than tha discharge stuff)

Got it , will remove reduction and the circled tubbing asap. The only change done to discharge was from pic1 to pic 2.

    Everything else is stock.
