Stator question

I believe that I'm going to need a new stator. I replaced both rectifiers with the CDI brand. Which stator do you recommend oem or CDI also should I replace the rectifiers again? I have a rough idle intermittent spark I believe. I came across a thread his motor is running identical to mine. My motor is a 1997 2.5 carb 200hp with a brand new quicksilver power head.

Troubleshoot the ignition system before randomly buying parts. It's not terribly difficult.

You can check it with a multimeter. Check the low and high speed windings 2 wires per. Look up the parameters. Like mentioned above things start adding up quick if you just start ordering parts. If it's no good pm I have a couple of them

Thanks for the replies. I've been chasing this problem for two years now to boat been at two different Mercury Marine mechanics had the carburetors rebuild new reads new voltage regulators. The boat runs great any other RPM but idle on idle it's just like in that video in the thread that I posted. I'll test the stator and trigger as you guys recommend and get back.
