Sportmaster 3L Shift Shaft Seal Carrier
Whats the difference other than material between the MAD EFI and the stock Mercury shift seal carrier on a 3L Sportmaster?

The stock plastic seal carrier has one seal that keeps oil in.
The one that Todd makes has two seals. One to keep oil in and the other is inverted to keep water out ... and is anodized aluminum that won't warp from heat .
If you get water inside , then the next place in line is the driveshaft seal carrier under the water pump. Todd's has four seals that stack in a slightly different height. So even if your drive shaft has a "ring wear mark" his will ride on a fresh spot. (as long as the shaft is not worn excessively) Also anodized aluminum.
Replacing both at the same time is kind of a standard maintenance / upgrade on the 3.0 - 3.2L sporty ..

Ordered the kit with the shift shaft and driveshaft seal carrier, figured I might as well do them both.

Anything like this for a 2.5 sportmaster?

2.5's do not have the water intrusion problem that the 3.0 has.
