So did Merc switchboxes ever have a rev limiter

I'm curious, I have an 88 adi 115 6 cylinder that seems to hit a wall at 6300, so was curious if they ever had a limiter in switchboxes, they basically use the same ignition system as the v6 with 2 switchboxes.

i've heard the a12 boxes couldn't turn as high as the racing boxes but i don't know for sure.
supposedly had something to do with the electronic parts, not really a limiter.

...my point is, thats all it was/is designed to do. its a 115. its has the right amount of intake/carbs, and the right amount of exhaust to produce what it was deigned to do. nothing more. its perfect. lol.

It peaks at about 5700 to 5800 revs. At 6300 you're well past power peak. You've go a T2x power head don't you? See if it''ll turn more.
