    Mercury l4 vs mercury xr2 v6 weight

    Hi!

Does anyone know the specific weight of their mercury xr2? If i google it i come to 350lbs (mentioned on sandf)
But if i search for the 115 hp 4 cyl 2 stroke it also says 350lbs (158kg)

Is the weight of the xr2 the same as the 4cyl?

I just looked in some old brochures and they list Race XR2 at 350lbs, 125 and 115 4cyl at 347lbs.

Not sure about the race version of the XR2, but this is what is listed for the regular one Mercury produced only a few years, and the 115 4 cyl:

    XR2 (2.0L V6):
    1985 - 385lbs
    1986 - 375
    1987 - 378

    115 (4 cyl) (I skipped a few):
    1989 - 340
    1990 - 326
    1991 - 326
    1992 - 315
    1993 - 315
    1994 - 315
    1995 - 348
    1996 - 368
    1997 - 348
    1998 – 348
    2000 – 347
    2003 – 348
    2005 – 348

So it can vary by year. Hope this helps.

They got a very different XR2 in Europe. 200 HP at 7000 rpm, CLE gearcase. ‘Our’ XR2 was a strong 150 intended for bass boats, and heavier.

That's confusing... so it would seem the I4 is a closer comparison to our XR2 then the European race XR2. So which one was he asking about originally?

Oh that does have to be the racing one, not our US standard one that I gave you weights on. If you can give me a model year I can check to see if it's listed.
