21 Rally Sport Windshield replacement.

Have a friend with a mid 1980's 21 Rally Sport that needs a new windshield. His got broke when his wife used it as a grab handle to climb to the deck at the sandbar. Any chance of finding an original? Or, who makes the acrylic windshields like he has. His appears to be acrylic and could be used as a template to make another. I believe his is 1/4 to 3/8 thick and is dark brown colored. Any info would be great. Trying to help out a friend.

Premium Marine on Cidco Road in Cocoa did some work on my Velocity windshield a few years back. They were able to replicate a piece that was broken and their pricing was fairly reasonable. They also do a lot of OEM stuff too.

He called them and they said they need the boat there not just the old windshield sent over for template. My friend Chuck said he doesn't want to make 4 trips across the state to drop of and pick up after done. Thanks though I appreciate the input.

Anyone else have any other ideas?

Rob--I used UPD Plastics in Davie, FL for a new windshield for my Eliminator. Turns out he had done one before and he had the pattern, but he could have done one from my old windshield. This is a one-man shop, do not expect quick turnaround, but it seems like he did it well (boat is still down so I have not mounted it yet). And he took the time to hand me the rubber inserts needed to mount it and explain the process. 954-476-2510, updplastics647@bellsouth.net If you call, most often have to leave a message. 5 years ago he charged me $210 for each side (it is a two piece windshield) of the Daytona windshield. Don't know if it was cheaper because he had the pattern already, I expect it was.
