Your argument would hold water if his planes were rerouted to present day Israel, or Jewish sections of Russia. But they weren't .. were they ..
I grew up during the race riots in the south. I had no black friends then. Today I have a few .. I met them at the dragstrip decades ago, we have "earned" each others trust.

I know they are major stock holders in the "Southland Corp" or were at the time. They looked at me like they thought I couldn't afford a Slurpee and a pack of parliament lights. I looked at them like,all ya'll look like muzzies to me, go head, open that jacket and pull out a detonator , I'm gonna introduce you to the American High and tight fastball with this here can of pea's .. Not many live where I do, I like it that way. Am I prejudiced, you betcha .. Just like Henry Ford, I'm honest about it. Earn my trust, you got a friend for life. Run over old people in the street, rape kids .. I'd just a soon see em go down the gator hole..

I'd bet on a few things;
1. Too niche for them to handle, Volvo is too big to cater to this market and cant profit from the small scale
2. Buy out competition, it happens all the time in biz Ive seen pricey molds torched in half at auction just to remove a potential competitor
3. Its not Volvo its a Cheby and why make profits for a competitor?
4. Marketing hype with the whole "green" free press, no publicity is bad publicity
5. CEO looks like she enjoyed it, that doesn't bode well long term branding. Its one thing to kill when you have to, its a whole other animal to relish it and look to enjoy it *cough psycho cough*
