Thanks guys ya I'm super excited. Fuji the 200 was an 03. Yes I definately would like to have him work his majic while it's there but money won't allow at this time. Even the mild built motors hes built sound so nasty. Any one have an idea what I mild build will run? I'm sure I'll find out when I drop it off next week if not.

    Some motivation for you.

The Second Effort Motor used to be on a 21’ Laser Cuddy around here.
Was a well know 90 mph boat, FOREVER!

That reminded me of a friend who had an identical motor on his 100 mph 20’ Hydrostream.
I saw him at a boat ramp breaking that motor in in ‘1989.
He just sent me pics of them repowering it to a 4 Stroke Merc.
That would make the V-8 36 yrs old, and has never been apart!

The shorty was on a friends STV.

...gator...you definately know the difference in lifespan of a v-6 anything ocean motor versus a great white north motor...i know you do. back in the day, when we did tons of outboard repowers on single & multiple v-6 boats, after 4, 5, or 6 year old trade-in's,(or less) we would give the customer $500.00 per motor credit for each motor towards his new ones. mind you, this was a generous dollar amount. thats because at that age they were considered parts motors... we would flip them actually, for $200-400 profit, because we did'nt want to turn one single bolt on them...lol... it wasn't uncommon to offer these same customers absolutely nothing for their old motors after this same time period. and they fully understood why. we sold only v-6 outboards back then mostly, and a freak'n lot of them.

    Yep.

Still seen all orig 1500 hr 8’s in the Keys.

Now gettin a head off one..., well......

I would add, the ones up here saw 7k+ every time out.
    For 36 yrs.

    And yes, know that we’ll.
I spent 7 yrs in one side of our two car garage in Sebastian rebuilding V-6 looper powerheads, as a full time gig.
    Two days per.

I bought every donor/trade in motor I could find in the state of Fla.
All I did were ‘93 and up OMC loopers.
    Sold long blocks only.

That way I didn’t need to water test or worry about gear cases, ignition or fuel.
Never had one come back and were very few I couldn’t get apart.
Normally 45 mins (yes I experimented w/the time) w/a cheap propane torch would take out a stuck head bolt and was always one of four locations per head.

Worst I ever had was 4 bolts in one block.

Could change a sleeve after 45 mins in our gas grill.
    No chrome/nic for me!

Got $3500 per and took their dead one as a $500 core.

Best was a guy w/a place on Grand Bahama Island that wanted me to fly over w/the p. head and install it!

He would fly me over and put me up for a few days but no pay.

I passed and loaded the p.head on his plane at the PSL airport.

BTW, who said anything about cash?
    That would be illegal.

...cash still is not illegal, thank god...but hey, they might try to make it illegal in the future, the way things are going these days. always file a tax return, no matter how little you make...

Gonna try a 3.6 on my HST sometime soon...probably the only motor that hasn't been on that poor boat yet.

An HST is still on my bucket list. They have been special to me ever since the early 90's when Mark Hildebrand ran is then new one on the Coldwater chain. We had a ton of good times together with boats, bikes and sleds.
