That was Sean Torrente's STRXACT/Dewald boat, he was having problems at the end, which was why Wicked was able to pass, but Torrente was given the victory on the day because we were unfairly penalized. Unfortunate that he had problems after having a good lead, but just because there was a wreck with Wicked and Phase 5 after he got passed while breaking down doesnt mean he should still get the win, thats my biased opinion.

I think 2021 will be a great year for STR and Wicked...

On race day #2 you can see just how much faster Wicked was running after re-doing their setup.

Will Todd D fix this race boat or build a new race boat from a mold off of this (crashed) race boat?

I agree that it seams with the str issues that pushes wicked wider out to a position where you could square the corner off more and it seems phase 5 maybe had a little to much speed going. I like the str guys but the win should have went to wicked. How much damage is there to the phase 5 boat?

Disclaimer...i know nothing about racing.

Question for race #2...when a racer pulls off the race course due to fuel issues, doesn't that mean they get labeled as 'DNF' ...Did Not Finish

Did STR pull off the race course on Race #2?

If so, then Wicked and Phase 5 are battling for 1st and 2nd position

And if Phase5 and Wicked crash, the person leading, which is Wicked should get the win because they won't do a second restart...

And because the race officials won't do a restart, the remainimg racers' positions will be frozen, and the boat leading the race at that frozen moment will be awarded 1st place(Wicked) 2nd place would be awarded to (Phase5), etc

Noli,

He is fixing this boat but there is another project just getting under way and it will incorporate what was learned with this build "which is a bunch"--Todd laid down the law that his stuff has the ability to run up front in calm water. He is smaller and lighter then the other boats so he was able to utilize those advantages on Sunday. He has a 10K repair and Phase 5 will have spent 30k after getting everything repainted, rebuilt, and re-rigged. Just a bad deal for all that were involved and I have seen Jay push for the win many times just like he did here-thats why its called "racing".

One would hope a racer with his experience would know that if you can't hit an apex being that far inside with that much speed, that you have to back off, especially when trying to overtake. Had Wicked not been there Phase 5 would have been extremely wide coming off that turn and would have certainly lost time. Also, if OPAs production were better this would've been seen by their cameras, and ruled properly, instead this is the first footage at all of this incident, and those results were based on "he said, she said" from what I can see from the real time footage.

Smitty was shown the footage 15 min. after they were out of the water. The response was "that's Dee's job to figure out". The good news is that all of this is for nothing more then ego stroke-there is no money in it and its supposed to be fun. I was on the phone an hour ago and told Todd to cut the canopy off that thing and lets go enjoy poker runs together with friends where we can actually log some miles and make some smiles. This getting nasty with each other has no positive outcome available and takes way too much prep/maintenance time for the return given.

If you are going to end up with wrecks like Randy caused in the video above or like what Todd/Mike/Al and Jay had this past weekend, there better be something more at stake then a $30.00 trophy. None of it is worth dying for or even destroying friendships over "life is too short".
