You want without turbulence, leave it in neutral and spin the rpm. Pump on its own without forced input.
The capabilities of the pump through the pickups without help. It's been said it's holding back flow at high speed, it's been said too much pressure is not wanted , so start with the baseline of the pump capability through the rpm range.
