I really want to try a chopper style prop just to see how it reacts problem is finding them in smaller diameters is really hard to do there are just none out there The prop I have now I had a good amount of cupping added to it It's a send me Cleaver
.. I am in the process of having a SRX cut down I also have a four blade which may help with the extra bow lift. Mike said most of the time these boats perform best with choppers. They like the added bowel lift so you can keep the trim as low as possible.Last edited by TwzteD; 08-25-2021 at 10:48 AM.

It runs pretty good with the 60r I still have a porpoise around 50-55 havent found a prop that can hold the bow up, I'm going to try 4 more inch of set back and see how it likes it. Choppers in the size I need are impossible to find. One of the best props the boat likes is a PowerTech SRD 3 but it is small highest pitch is 17p and it's almost instantly on the limiter the 19p raptor similar to the Yamaha drag prop works decent and is on of the faster props but it's to small too and just don't have that bite to keep the bow up. Hopefully setback helps. If there is 6"-1ft chopp and a head wind it don't matter what prop is on it packs enough air it just flys real nice and smooth but those conditions do t always present them selves especially on rivers. I think part of the problem I'm having is that my engine is slightly under powered and light for the hull, when they removed that 4" notch in the sponsons on the newer boats I'm not getting that leverage it needs. That and the small diameter props with less blade to grab and lift.

Did you resolve the porpoise?

Yes, adding setback helped significantly. These boats used to have setback built into the sponsors, but the notch was filled in when they revised the molds with heavier motors. It seems to not have an issue, but since I have a lighter motor than most I needed to add more setback.

Best I got out of the 60r on this boat was 58, I have since swapped it to a Yamaha 90, not much testing but it's already faster with a passenger and the engine buried. The boat is not light like a race layup hull it weighed around 420lbs bare hull with nothin in it but built well and will hold up to rough water that is around here.

Has been a bit since I have done any updates on this boat, but since I put the Yamaha 90 on it, I repainted the engine, made a custom cowling with (gorilla) on here. Finally go out to test it after a few months. Only been able to test 1 out of the 5 props I have, and it was the smallest, 61 at 6600 rpm so I think there's room for improvement, not as fast as the sst60 but its definitely more reliable for me and has more torque. Not the fastest boat but it's got a full interior and 2 10-gal fuel tanks and can tote 4+ people to the sand bar, so its respectable for a 13' IMO but I think I can do better, we will see.

Any updates? I saw on Hill's eBay page that they make a chopper that fits your gearcase:
