29 Scarab project.... why do I keep doing this?.....

So I kinda fell into a 1995 29 Scarab. Boat has twin 350s and alphas. Was in great mechanical shape when we pulled it apart for the customer 2 years ago so he could get some transom and stringer rot taken care of. He lost interest and long story short a deal was struck and now its mine. Someone talk me out of this. LOL

...you have the engines/transom plates/drives and everything else, to put it all back together? if so, put it together, seatrial it, clean it up, and sell it and make a few bucks. and don't drag the process out. this is what i would do with it. but thats just me.

I have it all. It will probably get new transom assemblies because salt water and age. But the drives and engines are in good shape.

There is a granulated powder you mix with water that I bought at Menards that works really well. I use it at half strength and follow up with a healthy dose of 303.

I'll have to look into it.

It seems that whenever we find a product that works great on one boat, it won't touch another, but the stuff that didn't work on the first boat works great on The second.

Spray the mildew with bleach, then directly cover with plastic. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat as needed.
Clean the rest of the boat and hard wear. Inventory and classify condition of all parts.
Then proudly make the opportunity to restore the boat to it's former glory available to the next guy with full disclosure as to all materials, work, and $$$ needed.
In other words, maintain integrity, take profit, and move on.

I have found Black Magic Bleche Wite and a soft bristle brush will clean off all the mildew and years of crud from vinyl.

Well, that was my best shot at talking you out of it, per your request. I figured my chances were about 3 in 10.
So, let me try again and see if I can provide a little positive reinforcement and tell you what you want to hear. You should return that very collectable and highly sought after vintage Scarab to it's original state of beauty over the winter, use it next summer while being the envy of all, then ship it south in the fall for a shameful profit.
I make a good yes man, don't you think?
That's really not a bad plan you know.
