Makes sense... I misread your original post, I had it backwards. A drag block with 260 porting, I was thinking that you were saying 260 marketed as a drag. I'm on your page now!

Ya, that chart might need a little more work.

To my understanding the 1991 "F" was the original 7 petal 200. After that they were all 5 petal. The 225 Promax and 245 sport jet were also 7 petal. I dont think any "FF" blocks were 7 petal. The "FF" is just a large exhaust chest 200 block (EFI & Carb). Honestly it gets more confusing every time someone posts a handy dandy chart. Im still curious about the single "F" on my block since its a matching halves block and only 5 petal lol. My 2004 XR6 150 also had a single letter "A" stamp which also goes against these charts. I think "AA" was a 2.0l or 2.4l but my XR6 was an unmolested factory 2.5l o-ring head motor with a single "A" stamp. At this point im lost hahaha!

I deleted the chart I found as it seems to have inaccurate info on it. I honesty don't know any of this stuff myself. I suppose I fell for the handy, dandy, fancy looking chart. I do enjoy learning this stuff though.

Edit: here's the chart in question.

Mike's chart is a good example and offers the information you need. The placement of the word "drag" with the 260 PP block seems to be inaccurate obviously but that doesn't make the entire chart useless as a whole.

Remember 200 horse is 200 horse. That’s the main thing more than anything else. It’s the 200ff base builds with the brucato, 260 front half, hogged out ports, horn, race head CR race gas high RPM screamers that kinda raise eyeballs. It’s an FF block tho, yee haw

RIGHT! It's not really an "ff" motor anymore once you change every aspect of what it originally was as an "ff" motor.

Yep, pretty sure that technical bunny is actually a juvenile Kangaroo. Or maybe the cigarettes have stunted his growth? Anyways, that’s probably why he’s such a technical guru. Lots of them down under in Ozzieland. Going by the size of his feet, he should have a very good “understanding” of things, and no doubt is an asskicker. Bet he sounds like the late great Steve Irwin, or that crazy Ozzieman guy from youtube.

I’m glad you guys explained all of that mercury alphabet soup, I always found that confusing. What I want to know is, why didn’t they stamp the blocks with big chests “DD”??? Seems they missed a good opportunity for clarity there...
