Cool " The Sandbar Circuit "

this is intended to be a feeler of what interest there may be for us to be able to visit sandbars around this great land as a group and enjoy each others company while learning some local knowledge of each of the favorite hangouts. I'll start with this , my favorite so far is in Islamarada at the " Holiday Isle Sandbar " ,,, man you could see 5 to 6 hundred boats there easy , good times . feel free to post up your favorite locations and lets see if we can make some destinations out of them, complete with "beach racin" bbq's and so on , as Wildman says " it's not how fast you go , it's how cool you look " . lets noodle it out fun out

In the video the drone camera at the 1:20 mark turns around and retraced it path back to a ...
looks like a Outboard Race Boat with canopy. I guess every kind of boat and its driver like to go where the party is.

The Coast Guard / Monroe County Sheriffs dept. built a sub-station on the other side of the bridge just to "service" the sand bar ... The 80's were a special time from down that-a-way ..
The "best" places today .. are the one's that "nobody" knows about ...

My favorite sandbars here are the ones no one knows about but the locals. You can spot the Yankees easy as there usually high and dry on the flat with broken skegs waiting on the tide, or sea tow.

The one and only time I went to holiday isle sand bar, the islamorada one you speak of, i counted 9 different branches of law enforcement. Got a ticket from the Highway Patrol Boat! Why do they have a boat? Not even a chuckle when i showed him that the reason i had no fire extinguisher was because it was taking up the space i needed for my nitrous bottle. The tourist can have that one.

Holiday Isle is great if your interested in the DJ speaker stereo competition....or you want to get into a drunken brawl. That place is a damn disaster.

We have a few good local spots down here but they are getting few and far between. Greedy ass guides have been advertising recently to bring tourists out to the last of the locals spots....it ain’t looking good.

Luckily a couple spots are only accessible with a small boat and the right tide.....keeps the triple engine junk out

    Great thread!

So the locals have agreed that, they ain’t tellin us about their favorites!
Cant say as I blame them.
    Especially in the Keys.
Been down enough to witness all their complaints.

One time at Islamorada, they had the hotdog boat out.
A 30’+ single OB powered house boat w/grills on the bow that they used to cook/sell food.
They took it there at high tide, waited on the tide to go out and it would settle on the sand bar.

Corona Mike and I went aboard for a couple of burgers.
One of their helpers was a very well endowed young lady, wearing a tee shirt w/nothing under it.
Her shirt said, “SET THE PUPPIES FREE!”
When I commented on the shirt, she set them free!
    Corona Mike was in lust!

One time at the Sebastian Inlet sand bar, someone’s dog jumped in our Whaler to visit!

Another time we were passing the bar in the Sonic on the way outside when a drunken idiot, leaving the sand bar, cut right in front of us (us in the marked channel)!
I gave him the stink eye and he flipped us off and wanted to fight!

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

PS, I believe Mr Fun meant this to be everywhere, not just Fla correct?

If so, I think that’s a great idea and never been done.
As in, where you’re from and secrets you know.

So for those of us that travel a lot, we’d know where to go.

We could be on vacation in Tennessee and know where to go.

    I like it.

We are doing a road trip through Tenn, Alabama, La, Fla etc.
    That would be perfect.

Boca Bash is a good time one year they had a porn site come and entertain we circled the strippers boat so tight the police couldn't get in. Mach 351 regotta used to be a good time but that has gotten insane. I usually hit Haulover Sandbar because I'm in the northeast part of Miami. Beer can island is also fun usually have someone cooking and most times they share.

Unfortunately this sand bar in the this video is being dredged away and pumped on the beach for sand restoration on Lido beach slightly to the north Was a lot of people fighting to keep it there.

I understand the overpopulation aspect and yes Gary I do want to learn new spots everywhere, heck I loved going to ocean drive on Miami beach in the 80's but now its not worth the aggravation , with that said I am sure there are places to enjoy nature and our sport at the same time without undesirables and the other problematic issues. heck , Jperog mentioned 3 places on lake George I never knew existed, that is what I'm after.
