    To many car shows

Not that I don’t enjoy watching them, but there has to be at least 6-8 shows on about fixing up old cars. From Bitching rides, counting cars, iron resurrection Texas metal and a few more. Who besides me would like to see one show about redoing and old jet boat, or wild mans garage, where he starts with a bare hull and goes through the whole process of rigging a boat, all the attention to detail he does. DCB boats could be another place to shoot a show.

I couldn't agree more I do watch the car shows but it would be great to see one on performance boating and probably help the sport

Thats a television idea I could watch....hunting down barn/backyard finds and restoring hulls to their former glory, and at least part of an episode would have to be dedicated to building extremely nasty race mercs

Several years ago I was contacted by a reality TV show producer about the possibility of doing something with our By-U-Boyz rally on Red River. He was interested but we just didn`t have the audience he was looking for.

It`s interesting to note that when word got out and TV was mentioned guys that had once turned their nose up at our event came calling. LOL

Unfortunately the only boat stuff they are after is TFH, TAH, TFH, PM, etc. great to watch but there are so many other good classes of racing that are never shown. Same deal in car drag racing, only see the big boys. Even F1 boat racing is no longer seen. I think if promoted right they could be surprised at how many would watch. BTW shame they couldn't make the Red RIVER Valley thing fly.

Finnegans garage on YouTube has a few good episodes working on his jet boat. But none of it really gets into fiberglass or hull work. Mostly engine work and some jet stuff.

I like Mike Finnegans stuff. He also does race his boat. There were a couple episodes on that as well. I would watch any show on boat restorations and race boats etc. But, like it was said earlier, the key word is audience. Would the masses tune in? Convince the producers of an audience.....and you've got a show.

Here's the next one......outboard engine building on a show................shhhhh!! secret! The car shows are open about their stuff(minus the cam).

Rotten Wood on a boat's structure is the equivalent of rust on an automobile.

Falcon 205 fiberglass foam Bass Boat's factory build process.
Yamaha boxes in the background, are a probable engine source for the new bass boat.

Yes , but would they have the whole resto project or new build done in 40 minutes of show and 20 minutes of commercials .. ???

    I mean, it's like McDonalds , right .. ???

Big Paulie started that nonsense when he screamed to little Paulie , if dat dare bike aint dun in time for day-toner , youz R all *&^$#$& &*#$#@^& *&%^%8 fired. I'm goin to da jym , and dat dare bike bett-R be dun by du time I get bakk ...
But before I go, fill dat dare garbage bag full of acetylene, and blow da winderz out of dis here *^%$&*())_+_+_)_ buildin ..

Now they are all going to go out of business , if they don't make a BS deadline.

Like Chip Foose said at Barrett~Jackson , this aint no "Overhaulin" car ...

Boat building is boring, takes too long and is way too intuitive for newbs to get into. AAAnd you can't work a bikini model into a lamination scene.(they would pass out) Rigging goes fast and you can understand the parts coming out of the boxes and getting bolted to the boat.
