Don't know about cleaning, all my stuff has had rollers since they came out.

There’s a spray super lube that’s more like a thick wd40. Works slick. If it cruds up again in another ten years clean and reapply. Parafin wax with dry graphite ( lock dry lubricant ) is the finest chain lube available as an unrelated tech tip

I like WD also. And it won't harm the paint. I have a 48 year old car that the windows were really stiff in. I flooded the regulators, rollers, etc while moving it up and down. They work surprisingly well now.

I would hose the runners down with WD then blow it out with an air hose. Use lithium grease on the slides.

NO on the lithium grease. It's like glue, way to thick, then when it dries out it's even thicker.

That is your opinion. You don't gob it in there. I use an acid brush and paint in on in the tracks.

I have a box I bought last year that's glued together from lithium grease from previous owner. It's glued with more than opinions.

I bought a Matco top and bottom set in 1985. Pretty sure it had grease on the slides, Karl.

Try engine, 2strk or hyd oil with a bit of grease mixed in. Works great.
And finally got my internet back that went out after hurricane Laura.
