There’s a spray super lube that’s more like a thick wd40. Works slick. If it cruds up again in another ten years clean and reapply. Parafin wax with dry graphite ( lock dry lubricant ) is the finest chain lube available as an unrelated tech tip

I like WD also. And it won't harm the paint. I have a 48 year old car that the windows were really stiff in. I flooded the regulators, rollers, etc while moving it up and down. They work surprisingly well now.
I would hose the runners down with WD then blow it out with an air hose. Use lithium grease on the slides.

Try engine, 2strk or hyd oil with a bit of grease mixed in. Works great.
