    Need Help Finding Reeds

So I bought a 1999 Merc 225 Pro Max that’s been swapped over to Carburetors. I don’t know what the doner motor for the carburetors was, but there’s 3 rows of double barrels. The reeds I have are horizontal, steel, 5 petal, and look fine. I’m looking for carbon fibers because I was told a carbon reed is less likely to kill a piston when one gets sucked up, but don’t know what to buy because of the Frankenstein carburetor swap it has. If I’m missing some concept about reeds, let me know. I’m trying to learn here. Tell me what the beat option for me is here, tell me what you would do if you wanted to go fast. I’m all ears, willing to spend money, and up for anything.

The motor is also going on a Hydrastream Viper if that is of any importance. Thanks.

See what Texas20225 has for you.

If that does not work, and even if it does, check out Chris Carson Marine. He is a vendor on this site. He will have all the gaskets you need and likely a set of intake stuffers. They really make a difference on hole shot. Best to call him, do not even bother with e-mail.

he says its 5 and he said it steel reeds im sure he is able to count most likely previous owner could not fix the 7 petal efi set up or just took the more economical way out and just dropped a 200 carb set up on it!!! lots of people cant fix efi or dont think they can afford another ecu or what ever was messed up with it i have changed quite a few back to efi but then again i really do hate carburetors and i have owned a lot of carb motors in my younger days

Chris Carson has good reeds , but you really should get with Texas and get his , it will be same exact reed for less $ but u will need gasket for a 2.5 200 , plus Texas has lots stuff (he's tryin thin out)

The 200 and 150 Pro Max motors were 5 petal but all had fiber reeds.
