    Help: Identify this mariner - no serial number

    I have attached pictures my guess from doing research online is it's a 1988 or 87 2.4 l Mariner Magnum EFI 220 horsepower. This came on a big 26-ft Bayliner deck boat that I recently purchased there doesn't seem to be too many of these still left out there that people are posting about or working on.

    That’s your date code behind the timing arm....December of 90, so it’s a 91 model year block at least. Probably just a hodgepodge 2.4 - nothing wrong with that.

    Sorry to ask this but could you elaborate .. ecu? What do you mean by A30?.

    You also have a 5" extension on your mid section.

    Ecu electronic control unit. Is the computer that fires the injectors.
    A30 is the exact programming of the ecu.

    Yeah I know about the 5-in extension it's too long for my boat so I have to install jack plates on it to lift it up. And thank you for clarification on the others

    Near that timing arm what letters do you see cast into the bock where the top meets the bottom?
