Looks like Mercs tar like DFI oil. Pennzoils XLF oil is what you want to use in flopti's ....and Tstat updates.

I would say it all depends. Honestly most people don't clean them until there is a big issue. The 300xs guys seem to get it, and usually have them cleaned every couple seasons or 100-200 hours I would say. Its all about what you run through them. Have bad gas, or a failed compressor and you will have something that looks like this. The air system has a major lack of filtration too so any dirt/dust/bugs in the lines get sucked right though.
EDIT: Also these motors like to run. Sitting is not doing these engines any favors.

Ok, I've got a 2007 250 pro xs with 150 hours on it, runs fine. I had the water pump replaced and the leg resealed(by a local shop) as preventative maintenance last fall, as far as I know it needs nothing. I'm a hobby mechanic, do oil changes on the leg, winterize the motor myself each fall, One of these days I'll replace the spark plugs. I've done a lot bigger mechanical jobs on cars and equipment, but getting older and now more likely to pay people to do work for me.
If I've decided to get the air compressor system and F.I. system cleaned/checked out, what do you recommend and what services do you offer? If I bring you the motor can you look after everything and if so for approximately how much?(I'm in Alberta)
If I remove all the parts and send them to you, how much is that going to cost(approximately) and how tricky is the job, especially the putting back together part? Special tools?08 Checkmate 2100br 250xs
