Any idea on stringer/floor height? Seems like the passengers are sitting a bit high for a race boat....

These boats sure look like the 20' Sutphen's from the 70's. I know that they are not splashed. But most of the boats sure are similar in design. Look real good flying off the waves.

Fuji, Does Apache get credit for being the original of this class of OB boat? Richie was def. building them in the late 70's. You never hear of his boats in most circles, but he did some outstanding work. Running twin engines on them too. Impressed the heck outta me!

...apache was not the original, by any means, but was by far and away the biggest name out there as far as exposure goes. kramers budget was unlimited with regards to promotion. major public relations company involved. my sister was head of production of multiple big newspapers in the midwest during apache's time, and she said every month she would get a large, big dollar print ready promotional kit for her to use that was unbelievable. these went out to all major american & foreign publishers, of any kind, throughout the world. she said she never used much of it. i asked her what she did with all these beautiful packages, she said they all went in the cylindrical file every month. this was a guy that had his 41 and 47 apache's loaded into the front of cargo jets & flew them to sardinia italy, australia, etc., AND BACK, to race in an offshore race...
