It depends on the motor, std v6 and under 316 stainless steel or better but for V8 omc and merc they need to be much better or mfg supplied.

...if your Mercury V-6 was mounted with the original stainless bolts, and still are, that came with the engine years ago, they would have been 1/2-20 fine thread bolts. not uncommon at all for rig shops to alter the length & thread of the engine mounting bolts though. 1/2-13 course thread bolts are commonly used also, as sourcing shorter or longer fine thread stainless bolts isn't possible for some shops over the years. course thread 1/2'' bolts have always been more readily available in different lengths, so thats what a lot of the shops went with. the fine thread bolts are always a better choice though, if you have the option. you are not going to find a thread-on ring, like the one you illustrate, in a 1/2-20 thread. only a course thread version.

...why do you want to put those rings on the engines upper mounting bolts? to use as a boat lift, or to water ski with, or?

I saw a bass boat do something similar. It had cables with the threaded adjusters on them. Basically held the transom from ripping off. She was soft. lol

I am a welder .. not the machine, but the person ..

So I wear dark shirts, usually black .. keeps the light from bouncing off the shirt, to the lens .. and then back into the retina --->

RetinaLight-sensitive tissue layer inside the eye

I think the paisley would do just as much damage ...

Why did i ask about what color shirt .. because you cant see it. just like none of us know if the OP has a 10 horse kicker motor .. or one of the new porkchops ..

Kinda like axein how long day need to be ... wiffout masurin the tran~some fatniss

A case of too little info .. to make an accurate recommendation ..

    Paisley ... really ..
