Car tires always fail for me. I’ve had good luck with Carlisle in 12” but not so much in 14”. I have 15” radials on my vking trailer that are the smoothest I have run yet but I can’t recall the brand. I’ll check later and update

30 psi car tires don't work. Got to be 50 plus psi tires.

I'm another one who has had good luck with balanced 14" Carlisle radials. Keeping them at the proper air pressure and replacing before they get too old is the mot important thing you can do. I replace about every 4 or 5 years no matter what they look like, which is usually fairly new.

Used to run the 8 and 10 ply maxxis tires made in mexico. Never a problem with them.

Okay so the tires on my vking trailer are Gallant GL Trail 15" radials. Very very smooth I have run these at serious distances over 75mph no shakes, smoothest tire I have ever run. I dont know if they are balanced or not because they came on the trailer and look to be new along with the wheels.

As for the car tire thing? I have only run 13" and 14" car radials and none were 50 psi. Most were old Vega Wheels with whatever tires were on the Vega. If you torch the center out of Vega wheels they bolt right up to 4 bolt trailer hubs which we did a lot to get away from those dinky 8" wheels which always killed the bearings from over speed on the hwy. So maybe a higher ply car tire would be ok I havent tried

To add further regarding tires I used to run Michelin exclusively on my trucks over the years then they became crappy in the early 2000's yet friends of mine still loved them. I have since tried a bunch, some great so buy again and then they sucked. I think with tires its as much about the batch they came out of as much as anything else.

Its not the plys its the load rating.........but almost always you wont get the load rating without the extra plys. Back in the day, I gave the car thing a shot. I put some 14 inch tires off of a Saturn(remember them?) on my 16' cajun's trailer. They werent strong enough. The tires bulged when properly inflated......so, I had to go get trailer tires. But, I wouldnt be afraid to go do it again. I was in my young and dumb teenage years back then.
