Is Anyone Running a Max 5 Prop On Sterndrive Here?
Mercury Racing says it will improve performance across the board and even give a 6-8% increase in top speed. It also costs $2,400! I'm currently running a lab finished 30p Bravo 1 on my Donzi 22 Classic with 525 EFI, XR upper/Imco-2" lower. Getting 82 mph at 5,390 rpm. That equates to 20% slip because I was running a lot of trim and the prop was surfacing. Teague recommends a 28p MAX 5. I need some testimonials on this prop before I drop that kind of cash on one! Is anyone here running one on a boat similar to mine?

What a crook. I have no input on the prop, just bumping this one up for you. Good luck.

If you are running 20% slip a five blade would help you. Not sure what the final outcome would be as far as slip. I tried 5 Blade Hydromotives on a 27 Fountain and 35 Fountain but with standard length drives. They were not what I was looking for, but I wasnt running 20% slip either.
Its an expensive experiment, I know. But if your slip is that high, it just might be the answer.Last edited by Beak Boater; 10-20-2020 at 12:18 PM.

What about a Hydromotive T5X or Quad IV X? Have them work it for more lift so you don’t need so much trim.
