Welp - I've got up the cahonies and did it.
Felt really odd putting a 4.25 inch hole in my transom, let alone two of them.
Came out pretty good and fired her up. No leaks, way better sound. Now to get out on the water before I put her away for the winter.

I have a bunch of things to get done yet. Troubleshoot some gauges, replace the blower and bilge pump. Then sunpad is getting replaced also and I am laying up fiberglass on this now as a replacement.
