WTB: Looking for a 21 Skater, Trick, Xtreme, Lightning

I am about done with this ski boat/family thing. Looking for a 21' that can handle rough, sloppy lake traffic. Flat bottom boats or low freeboard tunnels won't make the cut.

Unfortunately, I am somewhat limited on length of boat at my condo - 21 to 22' would probably be the max to effectively keep in the slip and not hang out. The sad thing is that the boat market has evolved and everyone wants pontoons and not high performance boats - couple that with the economic downturns and the high performance boat demand is so low that no one is making new ones and the used boats are aging fast!

What do you have? Ready to purchase when the right boat is located!

If there is ANY possibility of hanging the front onto the center dock a little and hanging the rear off a little, a 24 skater will serve you much better then a 21 in true lake chop and you will surprise a lot of bigger boats. They have become a rare find but they are out there and worth the hunt to find a solid one. If you are set on a single engine, you will be hard pressed to beat an Argo or twister in rough water and there are a few of those out there as well.

Not trying to throw cold water on a 21 design but I have been there, had friends that have been there, and there are better choices for a general rough lake performance cat.

Thanks - no option to hang over in the front, so it would all hang out the back. Prefer to keep the investment covered! I raced a 24' Skater in the late 80's/early 90's on the APBA/OPT circuit so very familiar with how that one behaves! That is always an option but good ones are getting scarce!

I will have to look into the Argo and Twister - not familiar with those.

Yes, Lanier Custom Boats. Joe may be able to give some insight. They will build one for you or they may have a used one in their client base.

Found it - nice looking boat. However, $52k is a bit much for a 20 year old 21’ boat.
