    Double hydraulic steering on 300 R ?

    Hi,

Mercury only do a midsection with one side steering for the motor (thinking about a double motor application). IMCO is selling a double hydraulic direction but for 2 motors application.

Does anyone have put a double hydraulic steering direction on a single 300 R ? (had a double hydraulic steering on a single 300X, works very well, Mercury tell it's not possible to put this direction on a single 300R application (geometry change).

Then does somoene have try it or not ?

...on a single engine...whether you go single or twin cylinder, when you have a leak, you still loose steering. helm bad? you still loose steering. it has been determined by many, that two cylinders, is not a redundant precaution. it has been determined by many, that a single cylinders capacity is more than sufficient in all applications. this includes offshore.

Although not that common I've seen dual rams on a single engine setup probably once. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what would be the benefits other than unnecessarily making a system that already works more complex. Single ram setups hold up in the most demanding of situations can't see the point of two
